Self-care products
Objective: The packaging design project is geared towards raising awareness about Intimate Partner Violence in South East Asian communities. To achieve this, a conceptual solution is proposed, involving a collaboration with Raksha, an Atlanta-based NGO dedicated to the same cause
Problem: Raksha, an Atlanta-based organization, aims to expand its presence nationwide by leveraging a strategy that involves enhancing name recognition, securing endorsements, and acquiring additional capital. Despite existing efforts in social media marketing, the organization faces challenges due to limited reach and lower potential for revenue generation. As Raksha endeavors to broaden its impact, a comprehensive approach focusing on increased visibility and support will be crucial for its national expansion goals
Solution: Raksha aims to strengthen its nationwide presence through innovative strategies, such as leveraging Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives to co-create cosmetic products. A key collaboration involves partnering with Masaba, a global cosmetic products chain. The co-branded products encompass commonly used skincare items. The dual impact of Masaba's endorsement and revenue-sharing agreements enhances Raksha's potential for name recognition and significantly bolsters its nationwide expansion endeavors.
Design Illustration and Layout
Hand Cream - Inspired by the South Asian tradition of applying henna to hands, I sought to infuse words of affirmation and motivation into the artwork. These women, often unaware of the emotional challenges they face, can find positivity and motivation through the packaging design, which aims to bring awareness to their experiences in a constructive manner.
Hair Oil - Hair oil plays a vital role in the self-care routines of South Asian women. The packaging draws inspiration from the way they nurture and strengthen their hair, encouraging women to extend the same level of care to themselves. Positive affirmations are inscribed in both English and Hindi, with the intention of resonating with the target audience and promoting a holistic approach to self-care.
Moisturizer - Maintaining cohesiveness in the design strategy aligned with the other two products, the moisturizer packaging features a central, stylized lotus motif. Complemented by words of inspiration and wellness, this design element harmonizes with the overall theme of the product line.
